Gobble Gobble Gobble

I love Thanksgiving. Always have. It's the beginning of the whirlwind of holiday cheer. Happy times. Loving times. Thankful times. So here is a little list of what I am thankful for:

MY FRIENDS for supporting me, encouraging me, pushing me, loving me...
MY FAMILY for supporting me, encouraging me, pushing me, loving me and believing in me in all things I do. Their unconditional support is priceless.
MY INFERTILITY(yes, that booger I bitch about---it's made me stronger in so many ways!)
MY HUSBAND..oh I don't have to tell you how much I love and adore that man. He is the bestest ever!!!
MY LORD AND SAVIOR..need I say more?

I am thankful for all of you as well. Your comments are hugely appreciated and are so uplifting in times of sorrow and happiness!! Blogging has brought some really good friends into my life. Something I was lacking.

This Thanksgiving, I am praying for all the families that are struggling. I know where they are and how they are feeling. I hope that during these uncertain and hard times that they are able to find something to be thankful for. I am praying for dear sweet Sarah & Tripp as they start to face the holidays without Carl. There has not been a day that has gone by that I haven't thought about him or had a memory of him. It's hard for me to pick up my phone to call him to tell him something that's going on and have to put it back down because I can not call him. So, I pray. Just like I did when I was a kid and I wanted to talk to my Papaw. :) Maybe it's silly or a little crazy but it's how I deal with loss. And, I am praying for all of you, for all the good and bad things going on...I pray...

Happy Thanksgiving! I am off to cook up some grub! AND GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MORE COWBELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahaha This statement will INDEED bring a funny post after we watch the Ole Miss/MSU game on Saturday. We are watching with the SIL & BIL and they are OLE MISS ALUMNI...the other SIL is a MSU ALUMNI and I am a huge MSU fan....CAN NOT WAIT! hahahaha Let me just say, I have my cowbell, it will be indoors, they will hate me when its over :)

Thanksgiving

I can not believe this week is already here! I love Thanksgiving! Food, family, football, fun, hunting, and most of all giving thanks for all! It will be a great year for that. We have so much to be thankful for. Of course, I give thanks every day.

I have been getting up at 5am every day for a week, coffee is my closest friend at that hour. I am happy to report that as much as I have wanted to sleep in, I haven't! Unless you count sleeping to 6am on Sunday! Ha ha

Hubby and I went hunting together over the weekend, it was opening weekend of gun season! Please people, if you hunt, follow the hunter safety rules! They are in place to protect you, not hinder you! My biggest fear is being shot in the woods. So many people get trigger happy and don't make sure of their target in the scope! Just please be cautious!

We also spent the weekend waiting on hubbys grandfather and father! Jeez, these 2 men! His father has found out He has an infection in his jaw bone and that is causing his heart problems. Amazing stuff there but too much to post from the phone. He had surgery on his mouth sbd let's just say He is better off eating food through a straw! Ew. Then his grandfather went to the hospital Friday because they thought He had a blood clot.
Scared us and we hailed booty up there. Happy to report no blood clot but He has a boot on his foot and can't get up from his chair for 1 week! He has badly injured his foot. Its solid black and swolen twice its size. Its yucky. So, we waited on everyone and helped his mom out because her hands are full. I cooked and did whatever I could for them. We go back on Wednesday night to stay until Sunday to help out more.

I may or may not be able to post any more this week. So in case I don't, please have a safe holiday and a very thankful thanksgiving!

5 am

I have that song stuck in my head. I think it was Dido, "its 5 am and I'm" don't remember the rest. I am starting a new routine to be prepared for my new job. Getting up early in order to leave by 630! So what does a girl do with so much time in the mornings? Clean, wash clothes, sew. Drink coffee, watch the news. Wish I could get the paper without it being a day behind.

The dog says I am crazy and is still curled up and asleep!

Have yall started shopping for the holidays yet? I have thought about it but haven't made a purchase yet. I will be on Friday, but only a couple of things for the hubby. Does it count that I know a couple of things that I am going to do? Ha ha

Thanksgiving is next week and I could not be more ready! Hubby is in an exceptionally good mood because deer season starts this weekend. We were walking to my parents house for breakfast Sunday morning and He was whistling and skipping, like a little girl. Ha ha Singing 5 more days!
He isn't right!

I went to look at a house that I love in historical downtown Canton. It is for sale but has to be moved. I knew it was old but I love the look. I decided that I would stop and peek in the windows before I called about it, since it is empty. WRONG!! I pulled in the drive way and got the poo scared out of me! There was a homeless man hiding by the back steps! I threw my car in reverse and hauled booty out of there!
I called about it. Its a large old house built in 1903. It was built with cypress and is a very stable house. Has 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, 2 kitchens, formal dining, formal living, family room, 2 screened porches, rounded arch ways, glass door knobs, original wood floors. Are you drooling with me yet? Ha ha probably not, but I love it! There are a couple of fireplaces and I am concerned about the brick. I know it may not make the haul.
The hubby said He would look but He was not as optimistic as I am! I love a project but He doesn't. He says I get the easy part of dreaming up the idea and not doing the work but He is so wrong! I would work! Ha ha

As much as I would love an old house that is totally remodeled, He would not. So, back to the drawing board! Hope yall have a great day!

crazy behind!!

I hope I get caught up soon on all my sewing!! I don't know how I got so behind BUT I will be caught up by Sunday. *hope and pray* I will feel better once I get to finish up some things this week! :)

My doctor visit with the fertility doctor went well today. It's hard to focus and be mad at a doctor when he is so darn cute. I got some answers to a lot of questions and concerns. Tests are being done and hopefully I will have some results that allow me to move forward. The outcome of these tests will determine whether or not we move forward with trying to conceive. These tests will change our lives. Without going into great details right now, I just ask that you say a prayer for the doctors and nurses and lab techs that are dealing with my tests and that *WE* get some answers. Finally.

Since I was in town for the doctor visit, I decided to stop in one of my favorite little stores to see if I could find any suits for work. OH MY GOSH! I hit the jackpot!! My Mom had a coupon and we saved over $100 by the time we were done!!! I got 3 suits and 2 shirts!! I can't wait to start work so I can wear my new duds!! LOL! I modeled for the hubby and he approved :) Then got jealous and wanted to know what he got. MEN!

my sample board

My sample board for the old trailer consists of these pictures:

I love both of these chairs. The first one in black is called a pod chair. I like it because I can move it around easily. But I love the look of the black and white one! I am still looking for accent chairs but I only have room for one and I want it to be a standout!

I am completely torn on these two couches. They are very similar and both fold down into a bed. I am pretty dead set on it being red!! The one on the right with the white pillows is significantly cheaper. However, the one of the left is real leather and may be more comfortable for sitting and sleeping for company :) Decisions, decisions.
OH my gosh. the booth...The hubby is dead set that he wants the booth and table combination. I am teetering on it but he is so enthusiastic about it!! He is really getting into the decorating and I find it pretty darn funny. This booth set is for 2 people and is only 30 inches wide so it will fit perfectly. I am thinking if it is in red and the couch is in red then it may be too much RED. I may have to do black booths?

SUPER *SQUEAL* Look at the appliances!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These are AMAZING looking and exactly what we want. But, they are a bit pricey :( We are debating it. And, in order to match the stove that is already in there and looks very similar to this picture, the fridge will be white. But isn't the red just so pretty? LOL! It comes in about 10 different colors.
See those floors? That is what is going in the whole thing! This is the table I wanted but the hubby wants that booth so badly. These chairs also come in black/white. I think we should use more black/white so that when/if I get sick of the red then I can add in some teal! haha See, I am already planning ahead for changes in the future.

That is the headway we made over the weekend. We picked out things we liked and we will go from there. It's a good start. I was extremely surprised at how easy it was to find things online. I wish I could find more locally and we might be able to. Shipping will be killer if I have to order all this stuff online. If any of you see anything like these things, EMAIL ME!!!! We won't be making purchases or needing this kind of stuff until next January or February. First, we have to replace the walls with bead board and paint and put in the new floors, clean, etc...

I hope you all had a great weekend. We surely did. Now I have to go find a heating element for the dryer because it went out. Lovely. I hope I don't have the trend of 3s!!!!

1950s style

Apparently, my posting from the cell phone was short lived. ALTHOUGH, I have been posting, almost every day but guess what? My posts never showed up here. Where they went, I will never know!!

A lot has been going on around here. Good news keeps raining down. God is good and He is showing his glorious face.

First-----I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh gosh, I am so darn happy! I start December 1st. So, there is lots to do around my house in preperation of getting back into a Mon-Friday 8-5 job :) It's perfect timing!

Second, I have a doctors appointment on Wednesday to discuss the new doctor in Memphis. I can hardly stand the wait to that.

Third, I am busy busy busy sewing!! I have tons to do and trying to hurry..

Last weekend we went up to see my hubby's parents. Long story short, his Dad plans to give each of the kids 5 acres to plant roots and build or whatever they want to do with the land. The rest of the land(500+/- acres) goes into a general estate, this is all when he is gone. He just wanted to prepare all of the kids beforehand. Good idea, this day in time. He doesn't want the land seperated, yada yada.. Well, we want this certain spot and have been trying to figure out a way to put our stake on it. We got it!! Hubby's parents gave us a 1955 Airstream trailer...don't laugh, yet. It's huge, for one thing. It's OLD for another and its in the original form minus some minor details. Well, we are going to remodel the inside back to the orginial 1950s theme.

Picture this huge silver bullet looking trailer complete with big funky windows and round window/port hole looking things. The inside will have black and white checker flooring. Then we are painting the walls inside a bright cheery sunny yellow. The cabinets willl be white, again. Then I am purchasing a retro shaped couch in RED... Then a small diner type table from the 50s that is big enough for 2 chairs with the chrome metal around the edges. Top the table off with two chrome metal chairs with round seats that are red vinyl. OH YEA! LOL! Hubby & I are totally stoked to redo this trailer. Outside we are replacing the deck and will add the 50s style patio furniture. Not to mention all the cute little windows and 2 large picture type windows in the living room that I will be making some cutesy funky curtains for!!

this trailer is completely in its original form as far as the shape of the cabinets and such. The bathroom has a green, orange, cream stripe wallpaper. If I can repaire some peeling corners and clean the walls up then it may very well stay. The bedroom is a funky turquoise blue, I am debating whether to leave it or repaint it. In the kitchen the stove is straight from the 70s era and still looks brand new and works! I was SHOCKED!! We have to find a refrigerator and I am going to take my time and try to find one that is OLD like the Frigidaire with pull handle style and in working condition. I want to REALLY keep the old feel of it but with some modern updates :) There is even a can opener mounted on the wall that is manual but is dated 1950. I was squealing when I saw it and it works! It STAYS! ha ha ha I will have to post pictures as soon as I can.

So, if any of you out there see any old retro looking stuff, shoot me an email. Although, I would like to find an original table and chairs from that era, I know I may be better off buying new. Those are easy to find online. We don't want to spend a fortune on everything because it is just a place for the weekends we come up to his parents house. But, I still want it cute and nice. I don't want to dread staying there. And by the time I am done, it will be cute. :) His parents are so delighted that we are doing this. they bought it new and used it way back in the day and they have loved that little place. I think we will love it just as much once we get it all cleaned up and looking like a 50s story book page.

I asked the hubby if we could buff and polish the silver thing so that it was so shiny it would put out eyes :) hahaahhahahaha Couldn't you just see it? He said I would have to settle with pressure washing it down.

I hope you all are having a great week. I have more great news coming, but just couldn't share just yet.... good times.
