Family Follies

We were visiting with my in-laws and this was a conversation with my MIL:

her: "you know Mazy*(MIL sister) is remodeling her bathroom and I told her that she definitely needed to get a new toilet because that thing she has just doesn't work right sometimes. But, I did tell her that if the construction crew could salvage it that WE would take it to put in the shop."

Me: staring, puzzled by what she just said. "Well, Doris* why would want her toilet if it doesn't work right and its old and besides that, its just nasty. You do realize you can buy a simple, modern style toilet at Home Depot for about $50.00 that work just fine, for the shop?!?"

her: "oh well I didn't think of that. I also told her that she could take it to deer camp and replace the men's bathroom toilet because it doesn't work well either. BUT if that one at camp could be salvaged then we would take it for the shop. Whichever one, doesn't matter to us."

Me: even more puzzled, "WHY would you want that toilet at camp? IF IT doesn't work either? You don't want her toilet problems. MUCH less a nasty toilet that a bunch of men and little boys have peed on..." SHIVER

her: "Oh, you have a point. But it could just be the pipes."

Hubby chimes in: "you think so Mom?" chuckle...chuckle...chuckle.
FIL just shakes his head and stays silent in that conversation.

My Mother-in-Law...I love our conversations...even if they do send chills up my spine and a pit to my stomach.

a few of my favorite things...

Here are a few of my new favorite things :)

the stress monkey is following me and the drama llama is staying away (for now)...I don't know which one I hate worse.

Had a really long weekend and I am still exhausted. I keep having weird nightmares. Maybe a little shopping could cure these? hmmm.

I thought

I'd be able to keep up better. But I will be honest. I am so busy with the job and the gym, thats it is hard to find time...Yep I said that right. I have joined the gym. Its been GREAT! I feel so much better being able to work out, but then again. I hurt more now! Getting older truly stinks.

We have been busy on the home front. We had a death in the family. Then a big scare with the hubbys mom. She had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance, the same day as the funeral. It was chaos but all is settling down more now.

I have new projects to share that we have been working on. Much sewing going on even though I am working. My Mom is doing all the sewing and I am picking out patterns, designing patterns, and picking fabrics. Thats my favorite part anyway :)

Many Congrats to C.B. on a beautiful 9pound healthy baby girl! She is gorgeous and I am so very happy for yall!!

How are all of you? Catch me up.

Where

But, I think my break is over. I am learning a new balance of things in life. Pictures and stories are coming soon!

ps...I have been lurking and reading.

Gobble Gobble Gobble

I love Thanksgiving. Always have. It's the beginning of the whirlwind of holiday cheer. Happy times. Loving times. Thankful times. So here is a little list of what I am thankful for:

MY FRIENDS for supporting me, encouraging me, pushing me, loving me...
MY FAMILY for supporting me, encouraging me, pushing me, loving me and believing in me in all things I do. Their unconditional support is priceless.
MY INFERTILITY(yes, that booger I bitch about---it's made me stronger in so many ways!)
MY HUSBAND..oh I don't have to tell you how much I love and adore that man. He is the bestest ever!!!
MY LORD AND SAVIOR..need I say more?

I am thankful for all of you as well. Your comments are hugely appreciated and are so uplifting in times of sorrow and happiness!! Blogging has brought some really good friends into my life. Something I was lacking.

This Thanksgiving, I am praying for all the families that are struggling. I know where they are and how they are feeling. I hope that during these uncertain and hard times that they are able to find something to be thankful for. I am praying for dear sweet Sarah & Tripp as they start to face the holidays without Carl. There has not been a day that has gone by that I haven't thought about him or had a memory of him. It's hard for me to pick up my phone to call him to tell him something that's going on and have to put it back down because I can not call him. So, I pray. Just like I did when I was a kid and I wanted to talk to my Papaw. :) Maybe it's silly or a little crazy but it's how I deal with loss. And, I am praying for all of you, for all the good and bad things going on...I pray...

Happy Thanksgiving! I am off to cook up some grub! AND GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MORE COWBELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahaha This statement will INDEED bring a funny post after we watch the Ole Miss/MSU game on Saturday. We are watching with the SIL & BIL and they are OLE MISS ALUMNI...the other SIL is a MSU ALUMNI and I am a huge MSU fan....CAN NOT WAIT! hahahaha Let me just say, I have my cowbell, it will be indoors, they will hate me when its over :)

Thanksgiving

I can not believe this week is already here! I love Thanksgiving! Food, family, football, fun, hunting, and most of all giving thanks for all! It will be a great year for that. We have so much to be thankful for. Of course, I give thanks every day.

I have been getting up at 5am every day for a week, coffee is my closest friend at that hour. I am happy to report that as much as I have wanted to sleep in, I haven't! Unless you count sleeping to 6am on Sunday! Ha ha

Hubby and I went hunting together over the weekend, it was opening weekend of gun season! Please people, if you hunt, follow the hunter safety rules! They are in place to protect you, not hinder you! My biggest fear is being shot in the woods. So many people get trigger happy and don't make sure of their target in the scope! Just please be cautious!

We also spent the weekend waiting on hubbys grandfather and father! Jeez, these 2 men! His father has found out He has an infection in his jaw bone and that is causing his heart problems. Amazing stuff there but too much to post from the phone. He had surgery on his mouth sbd let's just say He is better off eating food through a straw! Ew. Then his grandfather went to the hospital Friday because they thought He had a blood clot.
Scared us and we hailed booty up there. Happy to report no blood clot but He has a boot on his foot and can't get up from his chair for 1 week! He has badly injured his foot. Its solid black and swolen twice its size. Its yucky. So, we waited on everyone and helped his mom out because her hands are full. I cooked and did whatever I could for them. We go back on Wednesday night to stay until Sunday to help out more.

I may or may not be able to post any more this week. So in case I don't, please have a safe holiday and a very thankful thanksgiving!

I just want you all to know, you know who you are, that I am reading your posts but for some reason I can't comment.
I have been using my phone and sometimes it works and lately it doesn't work at all! Boo!
